Diary Entry 24

In handcuffs

Day 24 - Pickups @ ATP - Leigh Murray

THE LAST official DAY OF GREEN FIRE ENVY in handcuffs.

Last day of shooting, we shot the interrogation with Jose (officer Meneyakos) and me. I was rockin out with some handcuffs and fake cuts on my head, personally I think it went pretty good, both Jose and I were in our characters heads and we were just bouncing off each other really well.

It was funny and so hot because I was sitting under one of the blondes (a light mostly used for lighting up larger areas) and it was probably just under a meter over my head. So we did a few takes then the lovely crew set up to shoot close ups etc, and by this point I’m like sweating and my face is red and feel kinda dizzy from the heat of the light, I must of looked so trashed.

After the interrogation we only had one scene left to do and that was pre-crash of both families. We waited till it got dark and then the set up got underway, first we shot Jessica (Monique) and Kayla (Sarah) leaving and driving, then we shot the Shepard family leaving a restaurant and being all happy.

Once we had finished we all assemble in the car park of the ATP and Art (Executive Producer) spoke to us about what we had done over the past 4 weeks, which he believed that we had done a fantastic job during production, but we couldn’t rest yet because we still need to edit and market this film. Art also bestowed the honor of saying the magic words “IT’S A WRAP” to Tim Kho (Boom Operator & Camera – behind the scenes) to the production.

I think the mood was really bittersweet (queue the song by the Verve) as we were all ecstatic to get to the end of filming and say that we did it, we conquered it. But at the same time shooting was over, we weren’t going to see each other 6 days a week for hours on end, living in each others pockets, being able to finished each other sentences, laughing at the monumentally ridiculous in-jokes only the G.F.E cast & crew will ever get (haha, like Schematic hey Mikey, or MetroGnome).

Some people might never accomplish what we did, they might believe that it’s imposable and that it’s too hard to do. We all had a reason for being part of Participate and we all have that goal or passion driving us to learn and aim higher, I think everybody in this class/production has great talent and will go on to achieve so much, trust me. Guys we achieved the impossible, and that makes us mighty.

As Tim said “IT’S A WRAP”
