Green Fire Envy is not your ordinary Australian feature film. None of the student writers, producers, directors, actors and camera people have ever made anything longer than a short film. In many cases, not even that.
This hasn’t stopped the tight-knit team of students, whose ages start at just 14 years old, from pushing forward. Already the students have tasted success with the double feature, Battle Therapy, preparing for release on DVD. Now with Green Fire Envy they hope to hit the world film market.
“Our students are learning from the best Australian and overseas industry practitioners,” reports Artur Kade, the director of Participate Film Academy.
Prominent Australian cinematographers David Gribble and Russell Boyd have shared their know-how. And the students have been taking intensive classes in all areas of production such as camera work, writing, directing, acting, producing, marketing, fundraising and more.
With time running out and funds running low, the students still have many obstacles to face before they can realise their dream.
Green Fire Envy begins production on 1 October 2007.
